Exercise 5

1. This is the starting image:
   
   The goal is to make an artistic smudge painting.  

2. Open the image.

3. Click Blur/Sharpen>Unsharp Mask and use these settings:
   
   After clicking OK, the image should look like this:
   
   

4. Click Noise>Tschumperle Regularization and use these settings:
   
   After clicking OK, the image should look like this:
   
   

5. Click Paint>Set F2 for Smudge

6. Press P so round cursor appears.

7. Paint strokes over image following natural edges and lines where directional smearing is wanted.   Paint tight swirl strokes where general blurring is wanted.   The final image should look better than this because I am not an artist:
   
   It is better on hair than skin therefore it works better with dog pictures.
